A saved comparison link restores settings (geography type, region IDs, period, technology / industry filter, view, and trend chart mode). It does not freeze a historical data snapshot — figures reflect current warehouse data for the selected period.

Empty selection = All Technologies. The filter is saved in the comparison link and restored when you return from Explore. PatentCensus groups applications using CPC-based technology categories. These categories describe patent subject matter, not necessarily an applicant’s business industry. Applications may belong to more than one technology category. Technology totals and percentages should not be added together as if the categories were mutually exclusive.
